Enhancing Alumni Magazine Platform
Ongoing support project improving site reliability and user experience for an Ivy League alumni magazine.
Objective
Improve site stability, content management, and support for alumni engagement through sustained technical operations.
Challenge
Delays from late backend start and missing discovery phase, vague requirements and lack of direct client access, along with issues in content migration and hosting, caused budget overruns. Additional unplanned requests and underestimated support effort further strained resources.
Solution
Introduced transparent communication with proactive client updates, held regular risk sessions and retrospectives, and validated each SOW for proper scope alignment. Expanded capacity by hiring additional Drupal developers and adding a dedicated PM, ensuring smoother delivery and risk management.
Results
Achieved 9/10 client satisfaction, with faster support response, improved service delivery, clearer communication, and stronger risk mitigation.
